I want to start with a warning! If you are not caught up on The Walking Dead then: A) What’s wrong with you go catch up! and B) This is going to contain spoilers so you better stop reading!

The episode starts off with happy music and Carol making cookies for the townsfolk; you know that this apocalypse has taken a toll on her. She keeps a log of all the people she has killed, and honestly I think that would take a toll on anyone. We see a relationship blossoming between her and one of the townsfolk named Tobin.  During the day she gives him cookies, and at night he gives her a kiss (love and relationships always scare me in this show!).

A notable moment was after she had passed out the cookies to the people of Alexandria she takes one and places it in front of Sam’s grave. Is it possible she grieves for the boy she scared to death? or Does she feel some what responsible?

In fact after episodes of showcasing other characters, we finally come back to Carol our favorite chameleon. In this episode it appears she has become more motherly again. Is she trying to suppress the things she has done? We obviously see she is going through something internally especially when we see her with a notebook of all the people she’s killed.

We see a lot of relationships coming and going this episode like Abraham breaking up with Rosita as he packs for taking down the Saviors. Can I just say you have some awful timing Abraham.

As for Tara and Denise, you can obviously see there is something on Tara’s mind, and instead of talking about it she say’s “I love you” to Denise, taking away from the fact there is something else going on in her brain.

Rick goes over the blueprints with Andy from the Hilltop of the compound where the Saviors reside. Rick explains the threat of the Negan and his ‘Saviors’ and comes up with the genius plan to attack before being attacked.

Rick gets the town of Alexandria together to have a vote on whether to follow through with this or not. The only one who was against it is Morgan, who still believes in making deals, talking things out and second chances. (I honestly believe Rick would have followed through with the plan with or without the approval of the townsfolk).

Negan wanted Gregory’s head, so the group goes out and looks for a walker who resembles Gregory the most. This was the key to saving the prisoner from the Hilltop and getting into the compound. They find three walkers who resemble him, but Jesus tells Rick that the one that most resembles him has a slightly different nose.  Rick grabs the decapitated head, and punches it a couple times in the nose and says something like, “you hurt your wrist right?”

While the group was looking for a doppleganger walker of Gregory, Carol makes it clear that she is unhappy about Maggie being with them, again very motherly. They all know the risks of this mission and know people will die. Maggie basically tells her she needs to be there, because it was she who made the deal with Gregory.

Nightfall arrives and Maggie and Carol are left to patrol the perimeter and guarding their RV.

They arrive at the Saviors compound.  Andy gets out of the car and Gabriel and Tara remain in it. The two guards come out and request to see the head. After a quick examination, they all agree that it is Gregory.

One guard then goes inside to get the prisoner. As he does so, Rick and his team silently and efficiently take out the guard and carry his body into the bushes. When the other guard emerges with the prisoner Michonne takes him out with her sword. The group seamlessly make their way into the compound. They silently break into teams and go room to room taking out all the sleeping Saviors. Rick doesn’t seem to have any problem with killing them as they slept; however, Glen and Keith do. You can see it on Glen’s face before he makes his first kill that he is totally disgusted. Keith couldn’t even follow through (or Glen didn’t let him). Glen ended up taking out the man Keith was supposed to kill. After they kill the two sleeping men, Glen notices pictures on the wall of peoples heads smashed to bits. That had to make what they were doing a little more reassuring (unless those pictures were put there as a scare tactic from Negan).

We see Sasha and Abraham work as a team. They reach a door that is locked so Sasha begins to try and pick the lock while Abraham is on lookout. That’s when a door opens behind him and a savior comes out in full force.  There’s a struggle, but ferocious Sasha stabs him in the stomach a couple times. Before falling to the floor to die, he pulls the alarm on the wall now letting everyone know there has been a breach.

Keith and Glen are being attacked by a small team of Saviors and after a run around and shots being fired, the two make their way into the armory. They grab some automatic guns and shoot the Saviors through the armory  door. They exit to see the dead bodies in a pile on the floor. One leaning against a wall lifts his gun aiming it at either Keith or Glen, but he is then shot by the stealthy Jesus.

Father Gabriel has actually been stepping up and takes down a Savior saying a Bible verse while doing so.

Maggie and Carol get in an almost mother daughter argument as they hear the sirens blaring and Maggie wants to go help. Carol tells Maggie she is supposed to be someone else.

After all seems to be taken care of Rick and the team make their way outside, wondering if they had killed Negan in the process. That’s when one last savior makes his escape on a motorcycle, only to be shot down by Sasha and tackled by Daryl. Rick and the group surround him aiming their guns at him. That’s when a women’s voice comes through a walkie, telling him to not kill him. The mysterious woman on the walkie goes on to tell the group that they have a Maggie and Carol with them.

Do you think the group at this compound is with Negan? Or do you think Negan was using the group as a cover and he is actually at a different compound? How about the people who captured Maggie and Carol? Do you believe they are working with Negan?
