Teen Wolf Movie: What We Know and What We Hope To See

Send out the howl and assemble the wolf-pack! The hit series Teen Wolf is back— in the form of a movie that will be featured exclusively on Paramount +. Show creator, Jeff Davis announced on September 24th that the series will be returning to Beacon Hills. While details have yet to be sorted, according to the official MTV synopsis or the Teen Wolf movie, a full moon is rising in Beacon Hills, and a “terrifying evil” rises along with it. The howl is sent out, calling all Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter. The synopsis does provide fans with a clue about the timeline stating that “Only Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunited trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced”

Sounds like our favorite wolf-pack will be adults in the upcoming film, which leaves some fans to hope for character returns and relationships to develop more than when the show wrapped in 2017. Here are my wishes for the Teen Wolf Movie:

Kira Yukimara’s Return:

Everyone’s favorite kitsune was left out of the final season as her storyline was sent into the underworld with the Skinwalkers. Which left fans with a lot of unanswered questions along with distaste in their mouth after learning that Kira (portrayed by Arden Cho) was essentially written off the show. Claiming that her story had come to an end (but in reality her departure was to allow minor white male characters screen time). I am hoping that the announcement of “kitsunes” returning to Beacon Hills, means that our favorite cinnamon roll, katana-wielding badass, Kira will make a triumphant return. I am also curious about Kira’s journey with the Skinwalkers and what being back above ground will be like when she sees Scott (The poor girl does not even know that her boyfriend moved on to her friend, Malia).

Stydia’s Relationship:

One of the biggest slow-burning relationships of the series was that of Stiles Stilinski and Lydia Martin. Fans of Stydia finally got the solidification of their relationship in Season 6, only to get off scene moments and lack of relationship scene time as the series came to a close. Stydia fans are eager to learn if their relationship was able to stand the test of time and distance with college and careers. But I think, more importantly, Stydia fans are hoping for more scene time of them being a couple and possibly living together.

Chris Argent and Melissa McCall:

Another relationship that formed in the final season was that of Alpha Pack’s mom, Mellissa McCall, and hunter, Chris Argent. While this was a ship that no one saw coming, fans were quick to embrace this union despite the desire to have Melissa and Sheriff Stilinski pair up (but let’s face it we won’t be made if they happen). I would be interested to see how their dynamic will play out in the film as they help the Alpha Pack take on the ultimate evil.

Malia Tate and her Parents:

Fans are well aware that Malia’s biological father, Peter Hale has questionable parenting techniques when it comes to his daughter. In the final season, Peter’s humanity became more predominant as he was trying to do better with his daughter. However, there was just something missing in their relationship that felt unresolved. I would also be intrigued to see a parental reunion with the return of her estranged mother, Corinne. The dialogue would be filled with entertaining and snarky Peter Hale banter that we have been missing.

Isaac Lahey’s Return from France:

Everyone’s favorite scarf-wearing werewolf took off to France after Season 3 with Chris Argent. While Chris has made his return to Beacon Hills, Isaac has been left behind with no information (mainly impart due to actor, Daniel Sharmen’s work schedule). Fans would like to see Isaac return to Beacon Hills to help Scott take on the new villain and give some final closure on his character. Perhaps bringing along another lost character in Europe, Danny.

Derek Hale Becoming a Better Alpha:

Another character that has been left on the writer’s room floor has been the brooding Alpha, Derek Hale. He has the worst luck when it comes to his love life, keeping his pack alive and winning fights. While there have been plenty of shirtless moments and roaring howls to show his strength (and provide fans with some eye candy). Derek Hale has felt like a weaker side character that has been used as fan-bait despite his build-up in Seasons 1 and 2. I would like to see Derek with a strong and loyal wolf-pack of his own and the rebuild of the Hale Pack lineage. Fans are also curious to know if he is still with Braedan or if he has gone solo.
