*Warning this article contains spoilers!*

The Episode opens with The Widow meeting her former Reagent in a shady bar like establishment. She accuses him of spending profits he stole from her oil fields. She wants the former Reagent to work with her again to take down Quinn and the rest of the Barons. He declines, calling her Minerva, and telling her that Quinn has the strongest army of clippers and the other Barons wouldn’t dare go up against him. The conversation ends when a group of nomad mercenaries enter throwing an axe into her former Reagent’s face. It’s a fast paced fight sequence that really shows off The Widows rogue like skills. We learn Ryder Baron, Quinn’s son, hired these men to take her down.

M.K is escaping when he meets a young and skilled ninja star throwing girl named Tilda. Love story in the making? They hear dogs barking as Quinn and his men are searching for M.K. so Tilda takes him to her home leading him straight into The Widow’s grasp.

During an uncomfortable bathtub scene, the Widow tells M.K she is searching for a boy his age who wears a pendant around his neck. She tells him that the boy is special. He tells her he knows nothing of the boy, or where she could find him. Clearly, the Widow knows he is lying.

Quinn and Sunny go to the Doctor’s house, and, while Quinn is being examined, we find out that they are Veil’s parents, Vernon and Hannah. The Baron gave Veil to them as a gift when Vernon saved Lydia’s life during childbirth with Ryder. During the visit we find out that Baron Quinn has an inoperable tumor and doesn’t have much longer to live. Vernon promises to keep it a secret. Meanwhile, Hannah tells Sunny she knows of the baby, and Sunny tells her that it is extremely dangerous and she needs to tell Veil that. Quinn and Vernon exit the examination room, Hannah asks if all is well and Quinn assures her it is. He and Sunny walk outside when Quinn then tells Sunny to go in there and “clip” them. Sunny tells Quinn he can’t so Quinn takes Sunny’s sword and enters the home. We hear screams and pleading, and when Quinn emerges he is covered in blood. He tells Sunny that, as far as he is concerned, Sunny killed them.

The Widow’s suspicions about M.K grow and she tells Tilda that the only way to draw the power out from the one she seeks is by drawing blood. Tilda doesn’t want to at first, but doesn’t want to fall out of grace with her mother, so she agrees.

After a brief fight sequence M.K begs Tilda not to, and that all he wants is to find his mother and return home. So Tilda cuts open her hand and smears blood on his face. The Widow sees the blood and assumes he is not the one she’s seeking after all. (Wow she was fooled easily.)

M.K and Tilda are looking for an escape route for M.K when they hear the Widow speaking with some nomads about to enter the Widow’s office. Tilda goes over to M.K and kisses him making it appear that they were sneaking off for some hidden action. The Widow sees this, and tells M.K that he is no longer welcome in her home. The nomads then decide to recuit him to their group.

Sunny visits a devastated Veil, and tells her that he is her family now, and that they are going to somehow escape The Badlands.

Ryder falls for the bait set up by the Widow, that nomads were stealing Opium Shipments from their warehouse. Quinn sends Sunny and Ryder to investigate, only to walk into a trap. This fight scene reminded me a lot of Kill Bill, when Beatrix Kiddo fought the Crazy 88. M.K ends up saving Sunny by killing the last nomad as Sunny was attending to Ryder.

Sunny tells M.K to leave and that’s when M.K tells Sunny that he knows exactly how to escape the Badlands and how to get to Azra, but that he can not do it alone. Sunny wants him to take Veil and the baby, but he obviously needs to learn how to become a better fighter in order to do so.

They end up back at Baron Quinn’s. Quinn wants to know how he escaped and M.K comes up with a lie. Sunny then tells Quinn that M.K saved him and that he and Ryder would be dead if he hadn’t. Sunny then tells Quinn that he wants to make M.K his “Colt” his apprentice, and he pledges his loyalty to Quinn.
