Attack on Titan Season 3 part 2 Trailer review

Attack on Titan is back! Just recently a new official trailer for Season 3 part 2 dropped. Here are my thoughts on the trailer!  Attack on Titan is one of my favorite animes of all time. It’s up there with Naruto, Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. This anime is known for its unpredictable nature and not pulling punches so to speak which is why I love it. Getting compared to Game of Thrones and Walking Dead, this anime definitely takes viewers to places they have never been before. Season 3 part 2 is definitely going to continue that tradition and blow this universe outwards. Check out the new trailer below:
Before I get started on the review, I want to disclose that I have read ahead in the manga. I have known that this epic arc was coming for awhile. I will do my best to talk just what was seen in the trailer and leave out any spoilers. Now on to the review. This trailer is so well done. It has the manga readers screaming out in joy (and sadness). I would say this upcoming arc is probably one of the most fan favorited arcs of Attack on Titan. This trailer shows a snippet of a particular battle that is coming without giving away too many spoilers for those who have watched just the anime. The animation is just stunning. Wit studios really outdid themselves with this and it makes me excited to see what is coming. Some people were complaining about the break in season 3 which has never been done before in Attack on Titan. I understand why they did it, and the animation is one reason why. The wait was worth it to get that level of animation.
And can we just take a moment to talk about the music in the trailer? The music in the trailer harkens back to the song Attack on Titan in season 1 which is fitting as they are back in the Shiganshina district for this arc. Hiroyuki Sawano is, hands down, one of my favorite music composers out there. What he creates for Attack on Titan is absolutely stunning! But let’s not forget the singer Mika Kobayashi who takes this song to the next level with her amazing vocal ability. Now back to the meat of the trailer. Obviously, a major battle is coming between the Scouts and the Warriors (Reiner, Bertolt and the Beast Titan). If you are a Levi fan (and by now who isn’t), he is going to blow you away this season. The Beast Titan, Colossal Titan and Armored titan will not go down easily. As seen in the sneak peak we saw at the end of episode 12 of Season 3 part 1, things are not going to go exactly to plan, and that is all I will say on this. If you thought Season 3 part 1 was slow, that was purposeful. Part 1 covered a lot of story ground and revealed important information as well as set up what is coming up in the next arc. Some people are saying that it was the calm before the crazy storm that is coming which I would agree. Part 2 will be a roller coaster ride of action and emotions. Suffice to say that this fan can not wait until April 2019!
