AHS 8×07 Breakdown: “Kill Or Be Killed”

Things are heating up as we are a few episodes shy of the season finale. However, I am still wondering if we will ever make it back to the present day story. Now that we learned more about Dinah Stevens and Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt will it be time to resume back to the timeline? Here are my thoughts about episode 7, “Traitor.”

Witch Business

We learned that there was another witch inside Outpost 3, Bubbles McGee or as we recall Evie Gallant (who met an early demise by the hand of her grandson ). However, knowing in the AHS universe with witches around Evie/Bubbles could be resurrected to join her sisters in the final battle against Michael Langdon.  Also, her ability to see inside someone’s soul and detect their truth may come in handy.

Another witch with amplifying powers is Mallory. Did you think I was talking about Coco? I mean being able to detect gluten and calorie counts in food is every health gurus dream. But Mallory’s ability to play surgeon with a flick of her fingers to bring Coco back to life after choking on a snowball cake, not only solidify her as the next Supreme, but her abilities are singular to herself. This leads Supreme Cordelia and Zoe to believe that Mallory is the true Supreme and the key to defeating Michael Langdon.

However, in order to truly defeat Michael Langdon, Cordelia believes his soul needs to be trapped for all eternity. This leads her to seek out the new VooDoo Queen, Dinah Stevens in order to set up a one on one with Papa Legba. Cordelia is reunited with voodoo daddy and his mama, Nan, and she learns just what happened to her lost girl. But Nan doesn’t seem lost in hell with Papa Legba as she claims to enjoy hell and causing trouble there.

Knowing the heavy price to capture the AntiChrist forces Papa Legba to strike a deal with Cordelia. The deal is for Cordelia to give the souls of her girls (witches) to him. Cordelia declines without hesitation, but I get the feeling this deal may come back into play in the future as a final offer to Cordelia.

We’re burning All the…

The episode was properly titled “Traitor,” based on Ariel Agusutus’s lust for power and the Warlock’s desire to be rid of all witches. Their plan to extradite the witches is foiled when Cordelia and Myrtle surprise Ariel and Baldwin. Thanks to Bubbles and Myrtle hosting a dinner prior, the two detect information from the Warlocks’ though Bubbles’s abilities. This gives the witches an upper hand especially after learning about the death of their warlock colleague, John Moore.

Cordelia gathers her girls to resurrect John Moore, and they learn that his death was ordered but not done by a warlock. After a quick roundup, Ariel, Baldwin and Ms. Meade are tied to the post for sentencing. With one last surprise for Ariel and Baldwin, John makes an epic entrance and final sentencing for the three to be burned at the stake. Looks like Cordelia drew first blood and the war against Michael has begun!
