AHS: Fresh Meat

tumblr_oeyr5tvq0x1ucr4x2o1_1280Just when feel we have made it out of The Roanoke Nightmare, we find ourselves back into the dream. This time we got an introduction of a familiar face, more haunting ghosts and set up for the big twist. Here are our highlights of Chapter 5.

Edward Mott

Just as Ryan Murphy promised, Evan Peters made his AHS Season 6 debut as the aristocrat with severe social anxieties, Edward Philippe Mott. We also learn that he is the ancestor of Dandy with an art obsession that built what we know is The Miller’s home. Edward sought to build a home to escape and live out his days with his lover/manservant, Guinness. However, his dream home began to welcome some unwanted guests.tumblr_oeyuv7b81q1s4vanso3_1280

Edward begins to lose his sanity, after his paintings are vandalized. He blames his servants and has them banished to live out the remainder of their days. Edward is later awoken from sleep where he is forced out of his home to meet his brutal demise at the hand of The Butcher.

Edward makes cameos through out the episode from leading The Millers into danger, and than later helping them escape from The Butcher’s grasp. We are curious if we will see more of Edward Mott and if his role will lead into “The Big Twist,” awaiting us in Chapter 6.

A Ghostly Divide

screen-shot-2016-10-12-at-11-17-12-pmClearly there is a divide in The Butcher’s mob of benevolent ghosts. Priscilla, being the voice of reason and protector of Flora, tries to reason with The Butcher when Flora is selected first as the first sacrifice. The Butcher is set in her ways of serving the dark arts and her Druid leader, continues on with the sacrifice. Just before Flora is killed, there is a change of heart by Ambrose (The Butcher’s son) who says “No more,” before pulling his mother into the flames. This allows the remaining ghosts to decide their stance; Edward Pott chooses to free The Millers to allow them to escape whereas the Pig Man takes the Butcher’s knife to finish the job. Luckily, Lee comes back in the knick of time to plow down the Pig Man to save her daughter along with The Millers. However, we see The Butcher run out from the flames in attempt to stop them and we get the feeling we won’t see the last of her.

The Big Twist

We are on the verge of knowing just exactly what Ryan Murphy has in store for us with the “Big twist” he promised in Chapter 6. From the very brief promo for next week’s episode, it looks like we will follow those behind the camera of The Roanoke Nightmare. Could The Roanoke Nightmare be coming to the survivors? We know for sure that the nightmare isn’t over yet. With the connections made to past seasons from the banishing chant of Croatoan, meeting Dandy’s ancestor and Pig Man, could Chapter 6 be the connecting episode and tie to previous seasons?
