The Walking Dead Episode 6×03: “No, Thank You”

The horde is coming, Grimes’s group is in danger and The Wolves descend.

Season 6 of The Walking Dead is packing in the action, proving to be bigger and badder than seasons prior with hordes of walkers, a new season villain [The Wolves] and suspense for the Grimes group. The episode picks up on the heels of the first episode. To recap, the plan to distract the horde of  walkers away from Alexandria, failed after a horn [of what we know now is a semi truck at Alexandria] goes off. The horn distracted half of the horde re-directing them back to Alexandria.

Rick Grimes tells the group to get back to Alexandria, while he goes to retrieve the RV at one of the stops to meet up with Daryl, Sasha and Abraham to help with the remaining horde to keep them diverted from heading back towards Alexandria. Making a run for the RV, he encounters walkers making a meal of a fallen man. Quick on the attack, he takes down the walkers, but ends up cutting his hand.

Injured, Rick finally makes it to the RV, taking it to a rendezvous point to meet up with Daryl, Sasha and Abraham. While waiting to hear back from the group, he is compromised by members of The Wolves. Being a survivor, Rick is able to over power his two attackers and later kill more Wolves that attempted to sneak onto the RV.  Distracted by his attackers, he finds himself in great peril as the the straying horde descends onto the RV.

Speaking of peril, left over members of Alexandria and Grimes’s group make their way back to Alexandria to seek out the horn. They find themselves stuck in a town after the horde of walkers barricade their exits to safety. Seeking refuge, they hide out in an abandoned pet store. Knowing that they can’t wait out the horde for a period of time, Glenn offers a plan to set fire to a few buildings in town to distract the horde.

Michonne voices her disapproval to Glenn, “You have a wife,” she reminds him in hopes to change his mind. Glenn is adamant about his plan and takes Nicholas [whom claims to know the town] with him. Michonne is left to help the remaining group, keeping them quiet until Glenn is successful with his plan.

A plan is once again spoiled, this time by gun fire from Alexandria. The easily distracted horde foils Glenn’s plan causing both him and Nicholas to go on the run to seek refugee. The horde corners them [Glenn and Nicholas] in an alley, leaving them to only stand atop a dumpster to keep safe. Nicholas, through out the episode, begins to show PTSD being unable to cope with the horde of walkers. He commits suicide, and his body falls on top of Glenn into the horde walkers before them.

Leading me to this side rant about Glenn’s lively hood. The fandom went into another outcry over Glenn’s possible death. Some fans were quick to take to social media about their theories that Glenn is still alive. In the scene with Glenn falling into the horde of walkers, viewers saw the walkers tearing into flesh, pulling out intestines and devouring their meal whilst Glenn looked to be screaming. I believe Glenn is alive for now; why would intestines come out from his chest. As I stated above, Nicholas had fallen atop of Glenn during the fall into the horde.

Also in Talking Dead, Glenn was not mentioned in the memorial segment of fallen characters and walkers. So this leads me to believe Glenn is still alive and that this will not be the last of him. I would like to think that there will be a scene of hope of his survival through a plum of smoke seen by Michonne; just as she had looked for the signal at the end of the episode and a member of Alexandria assured her that it’s not a bad sign. This makes fans assume, once again, that Glenn is still alive.

How do you think Rick will get free of the horde? Do you think Glenn is alive or dead?
