Teen Wolf: Season 6B Teaser “Nostalgic”

Finally the Season 6b trailer has dropped and confirmation for the final 10 episodes of Teen Wolf will air July 30th. This brings MTV’s hit series to Sundays in a new prime time position. Fans are excited and ready to bid farewell to their pack of misfits. However, with familiar faces returning for the final 10, saying goodbye may not be as easy. Here’s my thoughts about the Season 6b trailer.

Welcome Back To Beacon Hills

All right, so let me begin with the most obvious and exciting part of the teaser trailer. Some fan favorite characters are back for the final fight in Beacon Hills: Ethan (Charlie Carver), Jackson Whittemore (Colton Haynes), Kate Argent (Jill Wagner), and Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin). Rumors have been swirling for months that everyone’s favorite grumpy wolf (Derek Hale) was making a triumphant return to Teen Wolf and the rumors can now be safely put to rest.

Seems like Teen Wolf is pulling out all the stops in the final episodes by bring back characters. I hope this time they are used to tie up loose ends and carry the storyline more than create more plot holes that will never be answered. I am unsure if Kate Argent has changed her villainous ways since her last appearance in season 4. Judging by the snarky grin on her face, she may be helping Gerard and the hunters take on Scott’s pack. Gerard may have his own agenda for wanting to get revenge on Scott, but we all know Kate will have her quest of vengeance for Allison Argent’s death.

Let’s not also forget the cozy strut of Jackson and Ethan down the hall of what looks to be Beacon Hills High School. Seeing the lack of Danny in the episode, looks like the show has paired up the werewolf from London (Jackson) and former Alpha pack werewolf Ethan together. I am interested to learn just what brought these two together and back to Beacon Hills.

Lastly, Derek Hale is back to help Scott’s pack. He has always shown deep appreciation for the True Alpha (Scott McCall), and his assisting his pack (for the most part). Derek appears with Stiles after a rain of gun fire claiming that Scott needs the both of them to fight this war. Clever show producer Jeff Davis really knows how to bait the fans for this duo (Stiles and Derek) by having them appear again in the trailer with Stiles wearing an FBI vest helping a wounded Derek Hale down a hall.

Death?

The trailer shows various characters being inflicted with pain physically and mentally. There is plenty of blood in the trailer, one unknown corpse is seen crawling in what looks to be in a hospital room. Piles of bodies with their eyes removed are found in a creepy abandoned basement. A split shot of Lydia Martin laying on a gurney with her hands folded over her abdomen. Wearing grey and black outfit, fitting for what could be a funeral and possibly her own?

Let’s not forget Scott McCall’s somber look in the waiting room of the hospital as he says in the trailer, “He’s murdering our friends.” This leaves an unsettling feeling about who may have fallen victim in the final season as no one is safe.

Other Highlights

  • A steamy shower kiss between Malia and Scott
  • Lydia questioning in a dream “Where is he?” Who could she possibly be referring to?
  • Gerard raising an army of hunters that will have the people of Beacon Hills turning on the supernatural creatures that live there out of fear. This includes members of Scott’s pack.
  • Two Hellhounds in one place only means there is more death coming to Beacon Hills.
  • We get our first look at the final villain of Teen Wolf: a skinless red creature that could possibly be “Beelzebub” better known to some as “The Winged Demon.”
