A man dressed up as a super hero and calls himself “The Fog” saves a woman from two muggers. The next morning he is found in a dumpster dead.

Major is arguing with Liv and how she went through his phone again. He again explains that he is no longer in contact with the girl he used to date. Their fight is interrupted when Ravi informs Liv that there is a body.

Chris Allred, aka The Fog, is the victim. He was a high school work shop teacher by day, and by night he would patrol the streets by being a super hero.

Major is drinking at a bar and he approaches a woman, and the hairs on his arms immediately stand up on end. She gives him a friendly tip on how to better talk to women.

Clive was able to have the woman who got mugged, I.D. the assailants. They go to check them out at the last place of employment they worked at. Liv notices that the Santa at the mall looks familiar. Clive then informs her that he is Mr. Boss, the head of the biggest crime syndicate in Seattle. Clive shows Mr. Boss the photos of the muggers and asks if he knows them and he responds saying he does not.

In the parking lot Liv has a vision of another guy in a costume attack the Fog. He is wearing a tic-tac-toe symbol and Clive corrects her by saying it’s a hashtag.

Blaine and Don E bring Liv and Ravi a body down at the morgue. He is barely alive and Blaine convinces Liv to turn him into a zombie to save his life. He also explains that the dying man is the only one who knows where to find the tainted Utopium. Liv then gives in and scratches him.

Clive is questioning the Hashtag. He tells them that he found out the Fog had a super team and didn’t include him. Liv asks him what he needed to assemble a team and Hashtag then responds by telling her he only knew something big was going down and that the Fog couldn’t handle it alone. Clive proceeds asking for the names.

The guy who was near death, is back at the mortuary with Blaine. Blaine then has to explain to him that he is a zombie, and that he needs brains in order to function.

Major has followed the woman he saw at the bar, and is hiding out in her shed and watching her. She is filling bird feeders. He goes through her photo album, studying her.

Back at the police station, the super-team is being questioned on why the Fog needed to assemble a team. One of members tells them that the Fog heard that Mr. Boss was bringing in a shipment of guns.

One of the bodies of the muggers was discovered hanging on a tree branch of a Christmas tree. Ravi says his throat was slashed and his body was hung up there post-mortem. Clive found Mr. Boss calling card on him. Liv finds the address of Mary, the woman who had been mugged, scribbled on the inside of a matchbox.

Liv and Ravi then go to see Blaine in order to get the tainted Utopium. Blaine explains that Drake, only knows a general whereabouts for it. Drake then tells them that an old High school buddy of his, was a drug dealer.  Vic called him from the trunk of a car as he had swallowed a condom full of Utopium in it’s powder form along with another dealer, Larry. They planned to sell it and then party with the rest, but that didn’t happen as somebody found out.  That was when Vic called Drake because he was sure he was going to die. The last thing Vic saw was the Jensen Water Tower. The two drug dealers bodies, which are full of their tainted Utopium, are buried somewhere in near sights of that Tower.

Liv goes back to the station, and Clive tells her he has a lead on the second mugger, Carlos Rena. He is a diabetic and since he hiding from Mr. Boss he would have to get his medication from his cousin’s house who is a registered nurse so he sent a car there in case Carlos shows up. Liv then tells him she had another vision of the shipment that the Fog was talking about and one of Mr. Boss’s henchmen blasting away.

Major goes into the woman’s house now that it is nightfall and sees her holding a gun to her head, and he quickly intervenes. She attacks and he tells her to stop and that he has people forcing him to hunt zombies, or they will kill his girlfriend, who is a zombie too. They are then sitting and chatting with each other. She explains what she was like before she became a zombie, and what she has to deal with now and how she hates it. It gives Major a sharper focus and perspective in what Liv goes through.

Liv is on a rooftop of a building in a super hero costume and mask, and she goes inside the warehouse where the shipment of guns are.

Clive is questioning Carlos and finds out Mary, the so called mugging victim, actually wasn’t a victim. He explains she walked into a high stakes poker game at Mr. Boss’s place, and pulled out a Glock and robbed some of the city’s most dangerous men at gunpoint. He also explains that she is the one that killed the Fog.

Liv takes down the henchmen one by one. She then sees a woman gagged and goes to untie her. The woman then knocks Liv over the head and is about to shoot Liv when Mr. Boss shows up and kills the girl.

Liv then wakes up to Ravi and he informs her that there were no thugs or guns, and that he was only called there because of the body, Mary Contreras. He tells her that Mr. Boss was the one that called the police. Liv goes down to the station, and Mr. Boss says the only illegal activity at his warehouse was her trespassing. Clive then asks Liv if it’s true if Mary was about to shoot her, and she agrees to it. Mr. Boss, with a cocky attitude, says he won’t charge her for trespassing as it is the Holiday season. On the way out, Drake follows Mr. Boss.

Clive is upset with Liv, and how she went in without a warrant. He explains that she has gone too far over the line and it’s on him for that. He realizes he has been treating her like a cop when in fact she is not. He then tells her that it’s over.

Liv goes home to her apartment to see it has been filled with Christmas decorations by Major. He tells her that he will be more empathetic. He brings up that she should try a more milder brain, a synthetic one but she tells him no. She has constant personality changes everyday and that is the new normal for her. She then tells him that they belong with their own kind, and her way of breaking up with him.

Ravi notices his rat, Hope, has turned back into a zombie. The rat had remained in a normal state for 162 days. The reversion to zombie state was sudden and came without any warnings. He is no worried that at some point it will happen to the cured humans as well.
