The Ultimate battle against the Darhk is about to begin with only two more episodes left. Will Oliver be able to seek revenge for Laurel and save his city? Looks like Darhk has a plan to not only take over Star City but the world. We break down episode 4×20 “Genesis” and share our own personal thoughts about the episode. 

Oliver Queen: 

Decides to go on a “Magical Mystery” tour according to Jon Diggle.  Jon believes he is going solo in order to keep people safe. The underline loss of Laurel to Team Arrow is evident still, and the impact of her loss is effecting how Oliver handles the news of Darhk’s uprising. Oliver is referred to a “magical tutor” by Constantine.  He hopes to keep his own darkness at bay and avenge Laurel. Felicity, being one step ahead and the only one to go toe to toe with Oliver, volunteers herself to join him on the journey.

The lead from Constantine brings Felicity and Oliver to an underground casino. The scene was a little bittersweet for the two,  taking us back to a familiar scene back in season 1. Felicity takes a comfortable seat at the poker table. Oliver, growing restless, discovers the lead that they were looking for was sitting right beside Felicity the whole time, a shaman. Oliver discovers that the totem that Darhk channels his powers is killing others and the only way to stop Darhk is by light.

Oliver is tested by the shaman to see if the lightness within is able to out way his darkness, being that he possesses both. If Oliver’s darkness is able to outweigh the light, he will only make Darhk more powerful. Looks like there will be an ultimate showdown between light and Darhk! We saw a glimpse of this theory when he has a showdown with Darhk while saving Lyla. Oliver was able to fight off Damien’s magic with light, claiming the light to be voices of hope from those he loves most.

Diggle Showdown: 

Jon Diggle will do anything for his family like keep his wife and daughter safe in a bunker with armed guards. Jon has not forgiven himself for the death of Laurel and feels guilt stricken about trusting his brother. After discovering where Andy is, there is a “Diggle Shootout.” Looks like the brothers haven’t been seeing eye to eye on things.  Jon ends up losing the battle with his brother and is apprehended and taken by Andy to be prepped for Darhk. Jon is able to escape his torture prep from Andy, claiming that his younger brother (Andy) is too far gone for him to save. Andy, always having something up his sleeve, places a tracker on Jon in order to track down A.R.G.U.S and take their technology for “Genesis”, the Rubicon.

Jon Diggle, not wanting to leave Lyla, has to take their baby, Sara, out of harms way. He flees from A.R.G.U.S with Andy following close behind until Felicity with impeccable timing knocks Andy off his motorcycle.  Sara, now in Felicity’s safety, allows Jon is to take off after Andy. They have another scuffle with Jon giving Andy more chances for redemption. Andy continues to threaten those that Jon loves in his life, Sara and Lyla. Jon has been the voice of reason throughout the season about sparing life.  However, his emotions get the best of him and he kills his brother. We are curious to see what will happened with Jon in the episodes to come and how his choice will play into his humanity.

Damien Darhk: 

Decided to kill off members of the H.I.V.E in order to enact the final stage of “Genesis.” Looks like Darhk is looking to settle scores and take a page right out of the Bible, literally. Genesis is a plan to flood the world by using A.R.G.U.S technology called the Rubicon. Darhk wants to have a re-due of the world and become like God, creating a world after his own image.

Things to Keep in Mind:

• Thea was drugged by Ruvé and taken by her boyfriend, Alex, to a unknown suburban town. The town is revealed to be a safe haven bunker dome by H.I.V.E for when Genesis is enacted.
